I just moved out of this apartment complex after living here for 3 years and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it whatsoever. The staff is so kind and the maintenance workers respond diligently to every request. It is a very quiet neighborhood and the neighbors are respectful & pleasant. The move in / move out process was simple and they communicate quickly and effectively. 10/10 recommend!

This was my first apartment and I moved in here in November. Everything was going okay until I saw a mouse in my kitchen last night. I work in healthcare and this is a major issue/hazard for me. I also have a huge fear of rodents and the positive reviews I saw about this neighborhood (specifically none mentioning rodents) is why I chose to live here. Maintenance even came back and sealed all cracks that he saw on my move-in day because of how paranoid I was. I’m really disappointed and hope I can break my lease soon. Update: it’s been a week and i can see that maintence/staff has entered my unit twice yet i have yet to receive an update from management. I have sent several emails and have been calling, but conveniently the manager is never available. I was told the pest control company came to my apartment yet it looks like nothing has been done and i can still see droppings?? This is ridiculous and the lack of communication from management is horrendous. Update: so the property manager (young mi park) finally found the time in her day to speak with me regarding this issue. On the phone she actually asked if i actually saw a mouse and asked if it was maybe a squirrel (I can’t make this up) 😂 She showed how they are obviously not taking this issue seriously because they “didn’t see anything” and they make other things a “top priority” (her words) I didn’t know having a rodent infestation wasn’t a top priority? Interesting, because I sent her pictures of mice droppings behind my refrigerator that maintenance and pest control “didn’t see”. They obviously did not do a thorough inspection. Maintenance place two glue mouse traps behind my stove. A joke. Also sent her a picture of a hole in my closet that was not sealed properly that maintenance coincidentally also did not see. Management is a joke! I will continue to update so others looking know what they are getting into. Oh, she also said that if I wasn’t to break my lease I would have to pay a fee equaled to one month rent, and pay 2 months of rent as well+give a 60 day notice. Luckily, I know that a lease is null and void if it is inhabitable.

This is my third and final year at Laurel Lakes. Here's my take thus far: Neighbors: My neighbors have been mostly okay. There were some who were just plain loud. I felt like no amount of insulation could mute them. My current neighbors are fairly quiet. But, I've noticed that the hallway is starting to smell more and more like marijuana everyday. I recognize that the property is still in transition to smoke-free so I understand that management are limited in what they can do. However, it makes living here difficult and brings the value of the property down. Pests: I haven't had any major issues with pests. But, the rapidly growing problem of residents not putting their trash in the dumpsters and/or overfilling the dumpster is a point of concern especially since the complex is near a large water source. I saw other reviews from residents who've seen rodents near the dumpster and/or in their home recently. That's the first time I've ever seen/heard someone mention rodents at the property and it makes me concerned for my remaining time here. However, I recognize that it takes effort from both parties - consistent pest maintenance, sealing points of entry properly and residents need to put their trash IN the dumpster. If it's full; there are several on the property to choose from. Management: For the most part, management has been responsive when I have a concern. However, communication can be a little lacking regarding office closures, elevator outages, etc. For example, there was a notice placed in the mailroom regarding discontinuing mail service for residents who don't check their mailbox and allow the boxes to overfill. It would have been nice to also receive that notice via email. Because if those residents aren't checking their mailboxes, how would they see it to know? Overall, my experience here hasn't been perfect. But, it also hasn't been the worse. I sincerely pray that Mission Rock can get a handle on things so that we can start seeing more of the value that we pay for.

I would like to share my experience working with Jasmine. Jasmine was so professional, very nice and knowledgeable of the complex. Jasmine provided and answer all necessary questions my son and I had regarding applying for the apartment during the tour. Thank you Jasmine for making my son feel welcomed. It is rare you find customer service as good as what you provided these days. We Thank You Jasmine for everything. Ms. Myles and Mr. Glover .

The benefits of the Views are the buildings themselves and location. The walls are well-insulated to a point (you can smell weed easily if someone is smoking in the next apartment), we never had a problem with pests, and we were close to many retail areas as well as highways. However, the management has steadily been making the community unlivable. We lived here for two years and the way that things deteriorated quickly was a major reason for leaving. This is what we experienced: 1) Rent Portal Lawsuit–They use a service for the resident portal that was hit with a class action lawsuit for which the Views residents received compensation in 2022. The current resident portal now is through the same company and includes endless advertising. Fees (trash, water, sewage) also are astronomical compared to the new community we have moved to, adding about $100 on average to the rent. Fees also increase separately from rent, so you will be hit with double annual increases. This does not include internet or gas/electric. 2) Management–When we initially moved in we were welcomed by a wonderful woman who helped us through the move-in process and getting set up. That disappeared after we had to start interacting with Danielle and Ryan. Messages to the community about maintenance were initially well in advance, detailed, and professional. During the last year or so of our living at the Views, they became unclear, sent out at most a couple of days in advance, and were very rude and unprofessional. Right before we moved out, the parking lot was repaved and was estimated to last about a week or two, but ended up lasting through the month (and more) that we were moving because of weather delays and what looked like mismanagement to us. This has been the case since at least November 2022, and asking for clarification or to meet with either of these people resulted in ignored emails. 3) Maintenance–The people who work here as maintenance seemed to not have much experience and struggled to do much beyond simple repairs, to the point of causing more damage. Our water heater was showing signs of needing to be replaced through small leaks throughout the first year of us living at the Views, but the leaks were only patched up despite having to repeatedly put in service requests for the same thing. It wasn’t until the water heater started flooding the apartment in the winter in the middle of the night that it was replaced, which also meant days of people coming in and out of our apartment to replace the carpet (and forgetting giant fans in the meantime). We didn’t know the water heater had been improperly installed until it started leaking again in the middle of the night a couple weeks later. We called emergency maintenance and what could have been an easy fix turned into the contents of the water heater spilling out into our apartment because they did not think to bring in the machine that would suction water straight from the water heater. Literally, one worker was trying to hold water from gushing out with one hand. So the whole cycle of drying/replacing the carpet started again, except there had been MUCH more water. But the water heater drama didn’t end there. When we started using the AC in the summer, another leak started up. Turned out they hadn’t reattached the hose to catch condensation water from the AC when they had replaced the water heater. We later had an issue with the icemaker and fridge, for which they replaced the fridge, but only after we called the front office after multiple maintenance requests had been ignored over several days. The apartments themselves are wonderful, but be prepared for a mountain of problems dealing with management and ways to make you pay more than you anticipate.

I have not been here long, but my initial impressions were not the best (although certain matters were rectified). 1. Convenience: You are paying for convenience (e.g., proximity to the town center, restaurants, local parks/tracks, smart locks/smart home features, and Amazon lockers) not a renovated apartment. 2. Apartment Condition: It is older, and my apartment wasn’t 100% ready. Blinds were cracked or missing, many of the cabinets had water damage, shelving from the closets to the laundry room were stained or scuffed. I noticed spots on the carpet at the door and a pink spot in one of the bedrooms. I kept picking up loose screws out of the carpet. The door on the balcony is damaged. Rusting and/or discoloration on top of the refrigerator and dryer. The ceiling fan seems to wobble. Some issues were fixed by maintenance during the apartment condition inspection, some things were covered up, and others could not be fixed for various reasons. 3. Smoking: I did not know this was a non-smoking property that was still TRANSITIONING from smoking to completely non-smoking. This was not clear to me until I asked after waiting for my application to be approved. I have bad allergies and a nose that doesn’t miss much. It’s why I know there’s a smoker below me, and it’s why my master bedroom smells stale. I’m not sure why smokers think that smoke is not a gas meaning it’s not confined to where you are and travels. It’s basic, elementary science. 4. Move-in: It was rough because the office was closed due to the weather; it only rained here, but it could’ve been worse elsewhere. I couldn’t get my keys for 2 days, but emergency maintenance was able to get us in until we could get what we needed from the office. Also, Jasmine and Young Mi were accommodating given the inconvenience. So, I’d say the office is top notch regarding professionalism. All in all, I’ll see how this goes. I do enjoy my evening walks. This is definitely a walkable neighborhood, and most days are pretty quiet.

Clean, quiet neighborhood. The walls are thin as I can hear my neighbors on the side of me, & below my unit. It could just be my neighbors but that comes with living in an apartment. Office staff has always been professional, & courteous (Erica and Jazmine) Also shout out to the maintenance team, as most of my issues in the unit were fixed promptly. Now for the negative: I have a neighbor who feels the need to place garbage/trash in front of their apartment door (invitation for rodents), instead of discarding the garbage promptly in the dumpsters. Thankfully I haven’t seen a mouse or roach during my time at the Views. You could do a lot worse in Laurel with some of the various complexes in this area. The newer & more expensive apartments seem to be more problem plagued than the Views. P.S. These are older garden style apartments, your expectations should bear that in mind.

Today i had a scheduled tour with Jasmine, she was very nice and welcoming most of all, she made me feel right at home. I loved how Jasmine took time with me, I didn't feel rushed like other communities I've visited. The community is …
